What's In This Blog

I created this blog for my journal. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In this blog I keep many of the things I come across as a member of the church. I also share my experiences on the ACE Train and getting to work, my experiences in Manteca where we have lived for three years, and other things I think are noticeable.

Omaha Parks

Omaha, according to their Parks and rec on line page, has over 250 parks.  This includes over 150 miles of trails, 12 community gardens, 17 aquatic facilities, 14 spraygrounds and 8 golf courses.  I have visited a fraction of this:

Memorial Park in addition to memorials has a playground area, a rose garden, and large grassy area where we saw Ringo Star and fireworks.

Westgate Park has pool and trailhead and ball diamonds.

Miller Park has a pool, playground, spray ground, dog park, baseball field and golf course.

Kountze Park is located on land that was part of the 1898 world's fair, international exposition.  The park covers four square blocks while the fairgrounds covered more than 24 bocks.

Elmwood Park has a very nice grotto, golf course, pool.

Walnut Grove Park was a fishing pond, large playground.

Mandan Park features hiking trails above the Missouri River.

Mount Vernon Garden was designed to look like George Washington's Mount Vernon

Brown Park is a community park west of 13th street in south Omaha.  Playground and pavillion and baseball diamond.
