Visit to Gifford Farm on the Missouri River

I had a fun Friday with Charity and her two youngest kids.  They said any barn that was open we could go in.  We saw goats, rabbits, chickens, calves, horses, pigs, sheep, alpacas, pigs and piglets, and ducks.  The funnest part was watching the kids react to petting the animals, and the animals nuzzling their feet.  Riley is a really good squealer.   In addition to animals they had slides, a milking machine and a hay ride.  The hay ride went to the river where we saw two eagles, a blue heron and a turkey vulture.  I also saw three wild turkeys on the ride to the farm.

Washington Park Thursday Concert Series: Steve Thornburg Trio

I very much enjoyed the Steve Thornburg Trio playing jazz standards.  I really liked "Besame, Besame" Mucho.  I even more enjoyed the "Pure Imagination."  It was a fun way to spend an evening.

I actually caught two shows this summer, Thursdays at 7 p.m.  The other I saw was Prairie Madness (classic rock).  The played some Beatles.

Wecome to Omaha/Bellevue: College Heights Park and North Field, Bellevue

 I visited a new to me park as the sun was going down.  Interesting that the park has a lit trail around it.  It has a basketball hoop, playground, historical markers soccer playing area and softball around the corner.  It also has a covered picnic area.  I did not see a restroom.

Welcome to Omaha/Bellevue: Cascio Pool and Park, Bellevue

We discovered Cascio Pool this week, and went a couple times.  It is behind Logan Fontenelle Middle School.  The pool is fun, and crowded.  Maybe because it is so fun is why it is so crowded.  It is also very refreshing with the water on the chilly side.  It has a splash pad in the shallow end of the pool.  The pool also has two water slides.  They sell snacks at the window, popsicles chips and cookies all for $1.  The pool i open daily 12-6:45 in the summer.  Wednesday it stays open until 8:45 and Sunday until 5:45.  Free to Seniors, kids $3 and adults $5.  Wading pool is $2.  

As for Cascio Park it is mostly just a walking trail from the pool to Cascio road.

Support Our Troops in Bellevue

 This ribbon is at the end of Pratt Avenue which runs parallel to Cornhusker one block to the south.  It is off the parking lot to the DJ's Dugout Sports Bar and on the hillside below the Cornhusker gas station.  And yes, we should support and honor our troops, especially with Memorial Day coming up.
