What Gives Manteca? Woodward Change for the Worse

I hate what the City has done to Woodward.  First they close it, and then it reopens with a big roundabout.  First time down the road we almost hit the thing; my wife was driving and it was foggy so we missed the signs warning of the presence of the roundabout.  The speed was 45 at the time.  Now they have changed the speed to 25 from Union to Airport.  The subdivision through there has direct access to Woodward meaning houses along Woodward have driveway access directly to Woodward.  All the other subdivision along Woodward have street access only with the subdivision being surrounded by a wall.  Why the change?  With all the driveways, the speed had to change.  But  I hate the speed 25.  This was my direct route to the train, but with the change I travel a different route most of the time.
Only somewhat related; there was a motor cycle accident which involved the new roundabout and high speed in which two motorcyclists were killed.  There were candlelights lighting the roundabout for the next week or more, as a memorial.  This helped light the roundabout until people got use to it.

Life in Manteca: Why Manteca Fireworks Were Cut Short?

Where we were sitting, we saw a firework which appeared to explode on the ground.  Immediately the emergency lights approached the area where this happened.  We thought maybe something had happened.  Manteca Bulletin verified this.  A launch accident sent a man detonating the fireworks to the hospital with second degree burns on his leg.  This cut off the display after a third of the fireworks had been exploded.  The injured man was an employee of J&M Displays.  He was treated for the burns at DOctor's Hospital.  The article says one of the mortars had been lit but became stuck and exploded while still on the ground.  "Firefighters on scene quickly got the situation under control.  Given the nature of the incident and potential damage to launch equipment Manteca fire officials shut down the aerial display that had started 10 ten minutes earlier."  The article further explains that the 10,000 people in the area started dispersing within about another ten minutes.  It also points at the J&M displays will give a refund to the Manteca City, which had to pay upfront, for the unexploded fireworks.

This article in the Manteca Bulletin is very applicable to my commute.  Three times I have been delayed because someone has been killed on the tracks.  Another time the light rail had the same problem.  Another time we were delayed because the AmTrak struck somebody and killed them over the route we travel.  It seems the CalTrain has even more problems than the Ace Train.  Train safety is a real problem.  On several times I have seen close calls, Usually involving the Light Rail
