Kountze Park is what is left after the 1898 Trans Mississippi and International Exposition. The land was donated by the Kountze family with the stipulation that some of it be used for a park after the world's fair. All the buildings were temporary and knocked down. Even the pond was filled in. Remaining is a park with softball diamond, tennis courts, play area, picnic areas and grass and trees. And lots of historical plaques talking about the exposition.
The Florence Boulevard goes through the middle of the park and on to Florence.
