Memorials at John Stella Field at Brown Park

 John Stella Field at Browns Park serves as the home field for South Omaha High School and South Omaha American Legion.  I was able to view the memorials at Brown Park.  They are usually behind the locked gate, but I was able to see them as an American Legion baseball game was going on.  The memorial is for amateur baseball players from Omaha who have died serving their country during WWII. There are 40 such people on the plaque.  Their names come from many ethnicities.  There is also a plaque to a soldier who died in Vietnam, Sergeant Daniel J. Sandstedt.  There is also a plaque for those who built the stadium.

 This park is in south Omaha off of 13th street at the corner of 15th and U.  It is at the top of th hill and the park is on the huill gong down the other side.  The park has a covered picnic area, playground and exercise apparatus.  It also has a nice hill and a large pavilion.  Just below the park is a baseball field, John Stella Field.  It says it is home of Bellevue University Baseball.
