What's In This Blog

I created this blog for my journal. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In this blog I keep many of the things I come across as a member of the church. I also share my experiences on the ACE Train and getting to work, my experiences in Manteca where we have lived for three years, and other things I think are noticeable.

South Bend Flags from Highway 20

I thought these flags in South Bend were cool.  They are close to the airport exit.  Picture taken from highway.

Elkhart to Pokagon State Park: Views and Murals.

This is a trip of about fifty minutes on the 120 which goes form close to Jeremy's house to the Park.  A few cities have murals, and there ae many interesting buildings.  One night when I was driving this way I saw seven or eight deer in a large group and then a single deer.

Indiana Pokagon State Park for Camping

We spent a couple nights ate the Pokagon State Park in northern Indiana.  Named for Chief Pokagon, it features a large lake, Lake James.  It also has a toboggan run for the winter, which is refrigerated so always available in season.  There is equestrian barn where you can go on a horse ride for $30.  A lodge with a couple restaurants.  There is a nature exhibit and several playgrounds.  They also have many campsites.  Ours had an outhouse type toilet close and a modern bathroom with showers a bit farther away, showers were free.  We saw a raccoon lurking around camp seeking anything not stored.  They did get some grease left out from cooking.

Christmas Eve and Morning 2025

We were at Jeremy's this year in Indiana with he and his boys.  I went with Jeremy doing pick ups of Christmas.  We visited Sheri's sister in Michigan, and caught a movie, David.  It was a good week.

Me and Jeremy's Boys at the Train Museum, Elkhart, Indiana

The one thing you take away from the Elkhart Train Museum is that trains are loud.  The have a horn and a bell that kids can play with.  The boys had great fun at the museum.  Elkhart has a very significant history with trains, with a spot in Elkhart having 95 sets of rails.
