What's In This Blog

I created this blog for my journal. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In this blog I keep many of the things I come across as a member of the church. I also share my experiences on the ACE Train and getting to work, my experiences in Manteca where we have lived for three years, and other things I think are noticeable.

Lakeview Beach and Park, West of Cleveland on Lake Erie

Driving to Cleveland we stopped to enjoy a beach on Lake Erie.  Lakeview has a park with fountain and rose garden in addition to the beach.

Views of Cleveland.

Most of the views of Kingman were taken while Sheri was driving.  We visited Lake View Beach in Lorain and then downtown for an escape room, and then by the new Cleveland Temple.

Escape Room in Cleveland

Perplexity Games runs an escape room in Cleveland.  We (Sheri and I and Jeremy's family) did a fantasy escape.  There were two rooms, and we had an hour to complete.  The first room went relatively quickly, but the second room was a struggle.  It was good to see everyone working together.   We were standing on patterns on the floor, and I am still not sure how Jeremy determined where we should stand.  The games was two cerebral for me and it gave me a head ache.  My first Escape Room experience.

Omaha Restaurant Review: Denny's

Denny's is a national chain and we have been frequenting them for many years.  There was one close to our home in San Jose/Cupertino.  It changed to a different restaurant, but we often enjoyed their grand sla breakfast.  We could feed the whole family for not much money.  However Denny's has changed.  We were in Cleveland (Rockside Rd just off the 77) needing dinner and took the boys.  It was a terrible experience.  We were hungry, and they took forever to serve us.  When they did the food came out one plate at a time, so some were served and others still waited.  And except for the pancakes the food was not very good.  I had salmon, which was overspiced and very salty.  Those who had breakfast seemed to do okay with their food.  Sheri had onion rings, which weren't done crispy and she asked them to fry them a bit more.  They still seemed rather soft.  The worse part about the experience is we were there with hungry boys and it took over an hour for us to be served.  It will be a long time before we visit a Denny's again.  There are a couple of Denny's in Omaha.

Cleveland Temple Open House

We visited the open house this last week.  We thought it started at 10 and got there about that time to be told it actually started at 12 and 10 on Saturdays.  However we waited and went through.  It was a very good experience.  There is great peace in the temple, even before it has been dedicated.  We also walked around a cou0le of times, and the kids explored the forest on the temple grounds.  Pictures not allowed in the temple but we took lots of the exterior.  We had a good time.  I made it a point to meet many missionaries, and had ties with any of them.  There were at least three from Shelley, Idaho.  Another from Herriman.  I love the missionaries and I love the temple.  Cleveland is a small temple, but it still has all the ordinances and all the priesthood will be there.
