Life in Manteca 67: Sheri Wardle's Birthday and Mother's Day, Caleb Band Awards

We had a busy week.  I stayed home from work Wednesday so I could take Sheri out for dinner for her birthday.  Sheri goes to school on Wednesdays to volunteer.  They sang to her, but she didn't wear the birthday hat.  When they got home we went to Chili's, Sheri's favorite.  Tony went with us. I took pictures, but lost my camera.  Sheri received a few gifts, a journal from April Petersen, A plant from her visiting teaching partner and plant pots from me.

We did not do cake on Wednesday
as Caleb had something for music.  Instead we had
cake on Sunday.  Charity and Anthony brought flowers, and I got flowers and chocolates.  We had a calm day.  Sheri did not want a movie, so a few pictures suffice.
Caleb had his Band Awards last Thursday.  He received his Jazz patch and trumpet pin as well as a certificate for Outstanding Musicianship.  Combo A played, and Caleb was on the drum.

I wash able to attend a couple concerts this week, and able to record a few songs.   The choir sang Tuesday, but I missed that and just caught Caleb playing drum for Jazz Combo.  This was evening of the arts, and included Jazz, Choir, Concert Band, Theater and visual arts.  Some of the visual art was very good.
Friday was Jazz fundraiser, with lots of Jazz music.  Caleb played in four groups.  He started with smaller groups, combo A and then Hot Spud on the drums.  The Jazz Band played, and I have a few videos.

This was the fundraiser night.  I had Tony put raffle tickets into the different raffles for me.  Something worked, because we won a basket of chocolate.

Life in Manteca 63: Hot Spud and Wisdom Teeth, Ward Party

Our Saturday was very busy.  Sheri and I started helping clean the church, and then helping someone move stuff, but were at the Battle of the Bands at eleven to hear Caleb play with Hot Spud.  It was again at the Senior Center this year.

Caleb couldn't drink or eat anything all morning because of oral surgery he had planned.  He didn't want to postpone it, so did the best he could, however it does show in his singing.
Oral surgery was for the removal of three wisdom teeth.  He had his moments.  I only recorded while he was struggling with hiccups coming off anesthesia.

We ended the day with a ward party and silent auction for young men's young women's fundraiser.  Tony fell in love with dog house, but the bid was way too high for us.  The Sierra High School Jazz Band played, with out Caleb who couldn't blow the trumpet because of his surgery.  However Caleb was there with us, and we both agreed they sounded really well.  The meal was pulled pork.  It was a fun evening.

Caleb has Four Concerts in One Week

Monday March 26, Caleb had he Sierra High School Choir Feeder Concert.  They invited four K-8 schools to join them.  Caleb's choir concert was today Monday March 26.  They did four numbers, including a joint one with the 4-8 choirs.  The 4-8 choirs did another four concerts.  Two of our neighbors were with the Veritas School choir, Ariel who lives out our front door and Elyse who lives out the back door.
