New Murals in Manteca California

 I noticed new murals last time I was in Manteca, where he had lived for ten years.  There is a a Manteca mural project which I previously shared.  These murals tell some of the history of Manteca and the surrounding area.  The are on Crestwood Avenue just south of Lathrop Road.

Caswell is south of Manteca close to Ripon

Manteca is known for water melon and pumpkins

Natic American history Yokut tribe lived in area

Almond blossoms every year in April, Ripon has a festival

Haggin Museum is in Stockton

San Joaquin Valley was covered with oaks before the were chopped down for firewood and locomotives

Close to the gold fields

Joshua Cowell is known as the father of Manteca.  Helped establish irrigation

Only a couple hours away and 120 goes to Yosemite

Happy Halloween: Pumpkin Pictures

 Tony says Happy Halloween from his Halloween festival at school.  He also had crazy hair day this week.

A great  percentage of the pumpkins grown in the United States come form the Manteca area.  We have Del Osso Farms, and Fonseca Farms.  Happy Halloween pumpkin pictures.

Life in Manteca 25: Manteca is a Pumpkin Town; Tony and I vist the corn maze.

Here are some pictures from Tony and I at the Del Osso Farms pumpkin festivities at the corn maze.  We didn't do the maze but we walked into the corn with Tony on my shoulders and the corn was still over Tony's head; cool!!!  Tony loved the tire mountain, the bouncy houses, shooting the pumpkin gun and the bouncing pillows.  I thought the train ride was sort of wimpy, just around the corn maze, never going in between the corn.

I also have some pictures from pumpkin fields and harvesting in the area.  They really do throw the pumpkins around just like in the mural.  I love the orange in the fields.  We really are the pumpkin capital of California.
