 Quick trip to the Trail Center Visitor Center.  We always have a good time and took plenty of time to check out the children's room with all the toys for playing.

Notre Dame Convent and Low-income Housing

 Notre Dame Housing is by the Winter Quarters Temple.

Mormon Bridge in North Omaha/ Florence

 Mormon Bridge takes the 680 over the Missouri River.  It is close to where the Mormons once had a ferry during the westward migration.  I am viewing it from the John J Pershing Drive.

Winter Quarters Temple and Visitor Center Lights

 Went to the Mormon Trail Center at Winter Quarters to see the exhibits and the lights, so went towards the end of the day.  I had a great time.  They turned the lights on at about 4:30 so just after my tour.  The temple was beautiful.  I really like the purple lights.  I love to see the Nativity as well.

Welcome to Omaha/Bellevue: Craig Park in Florence, Omaha Park: Craig Street Park

 The Omaha Craig Street Park or Twenty Eighth and Craig Stret Park if just off of John J Pershing Drive in north Omaha.  It is a pretty basic park with a softball diamond, playgrund and a couple picnic tables. It has a parking lot but no restrooms.

Welcome to Omaha/Bellevue: Parks: Florence Park

 This park is located at Winter Quarters, whicxh is now Florence, which has been annexed by Omaha.  At its peak there were 700 homes in this area from solid two-story edifices to dugouts into the hill.  Many of the Saints would perish during the short time the Mormons were in this location, mostly in the winters of 2846-47 and 1847-48.  Estimated are from 350 to 600.  The Saints left the area by 1854 except it continued as an outfitting station for pioneers traveling to Utah.  I know the handcart compaies of 1856 re-outfitted here, taking several weeks to repair handcarts and get ready for the next 1000 miles to Utah.

Today in the park there is a playground, a bandstand/gazebo, a memorial plaque and a grassy area.
