July Fourth Dinner and Activities

Sheri bought Tony Roma Ribs at Costco which were the center of our feast, which had other fixing, potato salad, baked beans, water melon and corn on the cob.  Sheri and Kayla came over and we had a good time.  They brought their pool and the boys had fun.  The put the slide in the poll.  We then waited for the fireworks.

A few waiting for the fireworks pictures.  Skylar and Bronnie were running around as Tony chased them, and Bronnie enjoyed Miranda's back.  While waiting for the traffic to clear, Jeremy lit a couple sparklers.

Independence Day 2016

I got up early and did a little yard work.  I did get the front mowed.
Tony and I ran over to watch BFG at the theater,
Jeremy, Kayla and boys came over for ribs for dinner.  Sheri got Tony Roma's ribs at Costco.  They were very good.
For the first time, we attended Manteca Fireworks at Big League Dreams.  I got some pictures.  However it appeared the were cut short, without a finale by a premature detonation.  Hopefully everyone was OK.  Emergency crews were on the scene.

Independence Day Eve

The Normans Invited us over for dinner.  Mark is using his new smoker and made chicken and brisket.  Both were excellent.  Joshua and Chelsea were there with their new puppy.  Tony and Miranda got to meet the puppy.

He is a big baby with knobby legs.  However he does like to swim and chase the stick.  Max too was home, and a whole bunch jealous.  

On the way home I attempted a couple photos of the crypt behind their house.  The crypt is on the hill behind the golf course, and has a fence around it.

Fourth of July Plans

We have decided to stay in manteca and do the Manteca Fourth.  This starts with a parade.

4th of July Celebration - Parade & Fireworks Spectacular

Bring the family out to enjoy our Independence Day festivities.

Start your day by watching the over 100 entries in Manteca's Annual Fourth of July Parade sponsored by the Manteca Sunrise Kiwanis. The parade begins at 10:00 am and includes floats, marching bands, antique and show vehicles and mounted horse teams. Wave and cheer as the parade strolls right by you along Main Street!

This brochure points to several sites to view the fireworks.  We have never gone to Big League Dreams and it looks like the open the doors there at 7 p.m.  However they charge a couple dollars.  There are also nearby parks where you can see the fireworks.

Caleb's Fourth

Caleb is very busy, but here is his July Fourth report.  He says he has many meetings this week; and he also has pageant.  He is going to be ushering twice this week, so if you are in Nauvoo, look for Elder Wardle and say "hi."
The only other thing to report is we had a good 4th of July. We were able to attend the ward party and watch the fireworks from the church. We were playing football in our proselyting clothes with some of the other young men and the Marston kids, and then all of a sudden... all of the primary kids came running at us with water balloons and we ran away so fast. But we didn't get away fast enough. I looked to see where they all came from and I saw one of our favorite members (Brother Bunnell) just handing water balloons out by his truck pointing at us and telling the kids to get us wet. When we made eye contact he was dying laughing. It was so funny. I caught a few of the poorly thrown water balloons and chased him down. Oh... you know he was soaking by the time Elder Broadbent and I were done. It was awesome. No pictures cause I was too busy in the heat of the battle. But it was sweet.
