General Conference Weekend

 This past weekend was general conference weekend of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  It is still available on line.  We had the missionaries for the Saturday afternoon session and then fed them cinnamon roll breakfast after conference.  We also had all the local kids on Saturday and went to Charity's on Sunday.  

I really enjoyed the messages.  President Oaks spoke twice, including asking us to study the talks.  Elder Kieran talked about gliding and compared it to life and finding things that lift us.  Elder Uchtdorf again talked about finding light.  Elder Gong talked about temples, Elder Christofferson about gambling.  I plan to listen to it over and over.

Happy Birthdays

 A birthday celebration weekend for son-in-law and granddaughter.  Lots of candles to blow.  Angel food cake and Texas sheet cake.  This week is also Sara's birthday and anniversary.  Sara passed away almost eleven years ago.  

Welcome to Omaha/Bellevue: Fontenelle Park in Omaha

 Fontenelle Park is in North Omaha off of Ames between 48th and 42nd.  It has a full size baseball diamond, and a softball diamond.  It has a large lagoon with fishing, spray park, tennis courts and playground.  There is a basketball court and a large pavilion and a gazebo by the lagoon.  Lots of picnic tables by the lagoon as well and a paved hiking trails around the lagoon.  

 

Welcome to Omaha/Bellevue: Lake James Park in Omaha

Lake James Park in Omaha is just south of Fontenelle Park.  It is a small community park with playground and ball diamond and basketball hoop.  There is no lake.
