What
does it feel like to be 57 years old? I guess the same as 56, except
my back hurts a bit more. At least that’s the way it has felt these
first three days of 57. I also think a message has finally sunk in—“I
have diabetes.” My lifestyle needs to change to recognize this fact.
Mostly I have only acknowledged my diabetes by taking the pills they
give me; but pills are not enough. I really need to make a change in my
diet, and exercise routine. If I could lose 20 pounds it would also
make a difference—20 pounds now, then 20 more and then 20 more again.
And finally 10 more after that, and I will be at a weight I can live
with.
I
took Tony to play tennis for my birthday. I just needs to do something
similar every day. Sheri suggests gardening, and I think that is also a
good idea. Walking around the park would also be nice.
