What's In This Blog

I created this blog for my journal. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In this blog I keep many of the things I come across as a member of the church. I also share my experiences on the ACE Train and getting to work, my experiences in Manteca where we have lived for three years, and other things I think are noticeable.

Family to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk

While Mark was visiting we decided to visit the Beach Boardwalk on a night when all rides are $1 as well as cotton candy, drinks and hot dogs.  We started with the cave train, then the log ride (my favorite, peaceful and then a thrill at the end), the Pirate ride, (usually my favorite but the swing was too much for me, and the merry-go-round.  The kids did some other rides, and we had a good time.

With Mark and Lizzy to San Francisco

We went to San Francisco with Mark and Lizzy Family.  Out first goal was the walk on the bridge, but crowds and poor parking on a Saturday scared us away.  Also Crissy Field was the same way.  There was a big party or event that took all the parking.  So we drove over the bridge, and made a picnic of it at the Golden Gate National Recreation area in Sausalito.  We had a good time, Sheri had fixings for sandwiches.  We hiked through the batteries, and looked off the cliffs at the ocean, saw a big ocean cargo ship headed out to sea, watched the birds, saw some deer, and drove home going over the Richmond Bridge.

This area is high cliffs overlooking the ocean.  It has an interesting assortment of flowers.  It also has an island, bird island which a sanctuary for many birds.  It is also a sanctuary for deer, and we saw four feeding.

Kids and Grandkids Here for Sunday Dinner

Mark and family came to say goodbye to Miranda, before she leaves on her mission.  So Sunday, Sheri served Navajo tacos, vegetarian style but also offering a gluten free option.  I really enjoyed the meal.  Jeremy had to work, so he Kayla and Skylar came a bit later.  Charity, Anthony and Camberly were also hear.  While here, the boys slept in the family room, and we have the guest room downstairs for Mark and Lizzy.  Actually the boys actually slept with them a lot too.

Tony and Miranda Loved Visiting Boise, Sara, Clyde and Grandmother

One of our goals this year has been to take Miranda to visit family so she can say goodbye before going on her mission.  In Boise my sister is living and my mother is now staying with her.
Tony loved Boise.  There is a playground and trampoline out back.  More importantly Sara has two pug dogs, Toby and R.J.  Tony had a good time with them, and for a time had taken to his knees and barking as he tried to get closer to them.  Scroll to the bottom for links to Tony's trampoline videos.
