I have had two dental extractions over the last couple months, one just before Thanksgiving and the other after Christmas. The second I probably would not have done if not for the first. The first resulted from a molar hurting. I had been told that it was cracked and needed a crown, however by the time it started hurting it couldn't be saved by a crown. They scheduled the periodontist so far out I eventually had them have the oral surgeon take it out. The pain had become unbearable. Consequently no build up, and when the second tooth needed extracting I decided to just live with one tooth less, top and bottom on one side. The first tooth, I didn't even look at. I did the second. However I didn't even think of taking pictures. I had previously had a wisdom tooth removed.
The side effect list they make you sign include broken jaw. That did not sound too fun. And then they say you will hear cracking sounds. With the first tooth the assistant held my jaw to reenforce it. I had terrible thought s about being the one whose jaw breaks.
Forty years ago (at my missionary dental exam) Dr. Jorgensen in Hyrum told me I would loss all my teeth before I was thirty if I didn't change my habits. In the end, it is at age 60 that I loss my first tooth, but loss two instead of one.

Happy Birthday Mark
Mark was in town for his birthday this year. This doesn't happen very often, but he and Lizzy went on a cruise, and we got to watch the boys. The boy were fun; and we enjoyed Mark and Lizzy's company when they came through. Gus helped me with family history work. He is a great shredder person. Elliott stay closer to his grandma, but also helped with shredding. He over loaded the shredded paper catcher, so had to stop. Mark and Lizzy got back on Mark's birthday, so Charity made German chocolate cake, and Sheri made Navajo tacos (The Wardle version with scone instead of fry bread.) We all got to sing, as off key as we could.

Christmas Sing-a-Long Party: 2017
Just a couple pictures to show. This ended up being a family affair for the most part, Banks, Wardle and Norman families. A few people showed up towards the end to go over parts for the ward performance Christmas Eve. We had the sing-a-long only a couple days before Christmas so Miranda and Caleb, Annie and Todd could join us.

From the Norman side Natalie and Charlie were there, and Heather home from school On our side, Caleb and Annie and Todd were home from school, as Miranda, and then our local children Charity and Anthony and girls, and Jeremy and Kayla and boys. It made for a fun evening. Dianna got lots of toys out for the kids.

New Years Day: To the Beach
More often than not we go to the beach New Years Day. this year was no exception, Natural Bridges in Santa Cruz. This place has lots of neat tide pools. The tide was out so we could walk out to the one bridge that is still standing.
Randi's new look |
Jeremy dug a trench to us for volleyball |
There was a fir up the street (fire engine and everything) when we were headed to the each. If you look close you and see smoke and flames. |

Christmas Day 2017: At the Park
We had a pretty good time at the park. We first had to deal with some very rude youth playing their rap with many swear words and other inappropriate stuff. I asked them to turn it off and got their attitude. They had also helped themselves to our basketball which I took back. We played a 21 with Anthony and Jeremy and tony and Caleb. I didn't do well. My back hurt when I extended so my shot was always short. Camberly swung like a monkey, and the little ones tried the slide. It was pretty fun. We ended so we could go eat Christmas dinner. Sheri served both ham dinner and Rouladen. Hayley practiced the bonk.
