South Haven Beach Day with Elizabeth and Family

A short drive from us is the South Haven Beach on Lake Michigan.  We met Elizabeth and with some of her crew from Allegan.  They have a nice pier and play area.  I walked to the end of the pier and took some pictures of the light house and barge.

Silver Beach in Michigan on Lake Michigan, Saint Joseph's

 Quick trip to meet Jeremy at the beach close to where he was working.  There is a charge for parking unless you park far away and walk in.

Indiana for Baseball

The boys were in the middle of end of year tournaments.  One boy is playing for the championship and two played their final games.  They are all young in their respective leagues and so often play outfield.  But they all like to hit the ball.  Jeremy's boys.

 

Omaha Freedom Park; Navy Memorial

 You access Freedom Park form Miller's Landing.  It is only open on Saturdays from 10 to 3.  There is a gate to go through and a road of over a mile to follow.  This goes through the strange part of Omaha that is actually in Iowa, and then you come back into Nebraska and that is where the parking is for the park.  It is along the Missouri River.  The park includes Navy materials, chains, anchors, propellers.  It also includes the USS Hazard, a mine counter measure ship and the USS Marlin, a submarine.  There are a few aircraft.  

Spring Lake Park and Pool

 I was going to take the kids swimming, but the pool was not yet opened.  AThere is a neat lake at Pring Lake Park.  However I understand the pool is now open.
